      What is the Steel Hex Bolts to AS/NZS Standards?

      What is the difference between AS/NZS standard bolts and ISO/DIN standard bolts?

      There are three main differences.
      • First, in terms of scope, AS/NZS 1252 has special provisions for structural bolt assemblies including matching nuts and washers, while ISO/DIN standards often set separate specifications for bolts alone.
      • Second, regarding markings, AS/NZS requires clear manufacturer identification and grade marks on bolt heads, with stricter traceability rules.
      • Third, in dimensions, AS 1110.1 – 2000 covers diameters up to 64mm, and some dimensional tolerances of the bolt head differ slightly from ISO 4014.

      What steel grades are available for AS/NZS standard hex bolts (e.g., 4.6, 8.8, 10.9)?

      Can AS/NZS hex bolts be used in marine or coastal high – humidity environments?

      Yes, but the right material and surface treatment must be selected. We recommend 316 stainless steel bolts or carbon steel bolts with hot – dip galvanizing and passivation treatment. These meet the corrosion – resistance derivative requirements of AS/NZS standards. In marine projects, we also provide bolts with supplementary salt spray test reports (up to 1000 hours of neutral salt spray resistance).

      What testing items do AS/NZS hex bolts need to pass before leaving the factory?

      We have own ISO90001 quality system standards ,it covers multiple items.Routine tests include thread go – no – go gauge testing, dimensional measurement, and surface defect inspection.Except that ,mechanical tests involve tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness testing will be done after finishing the high strength bolts  . For structural bolts, additional torque coefficient and impact tests are required.Each batch has a sampling test record to ensure qualification before leaving the factory. We will ensure that every batch of bolts is traceable before leaving the Hangzhou Gmetalparts factory.
